Apres Ski Juice Recipe

I had some leftover Kabacha pumpkin in our refrigerator post-Thanksgiving, and as I’d been fighting a little seasonal flu germ, I thought I should concoct a yellow juice cure for myself. What transpired turned out to be more cocktail than tonic – so I sprinkled nutmeg on top and curled up with my glass in a comfy chair. This juice reminds me of drinking hot cocoa by the fire at a winter resort, hence the name…

Apres Ski Juice:

  • 1/4 cucumber (with most of the skin cut away)
  • 3 small carrots
  • 1/2 wedge kabacha
  • 1/2 sweet potato (Oriental sweet or Red Harvest are two of my favorites)
  • garnish with nutmeg
*Never juice a raw yam, as they are poisonous. Some sweet potatoes are labeled as yams, but are perfectly fine for juicing.  A real yam is large and white inside. If in doubt, ask your grocer
