This is the perfect Halloween treat for those who prefer vitamins & nutrients over cavities. If you’re trying to avoid processed sugars and empty carbs, but still need to satisfy that sweet tooth, this is your juice. It’s also a fun juice to make with children.
Candy Apple Juice:
- 1 Granny Smith apple, cut into quarters
- 1 small handful red seedless grapes
- 3-4 raw cranberries, if available
- 1 fresh organic lemon
- 1 pinch saigon cinnamon
Juice apple, grapes, and cranberries. Then, holding onto one side of a lemon, rub the fine side of a handheld potato grater along the rind, grating onto a plate. Scoop the zest into your glass. Stir, sprinkle cinnamon on top, enjoy!
- Sugar content: high
- Yield: 5-6 ounces
I taught my son how to safely slice apples with a light-weight paring knife. Here is a little poem I made up, to help children learn how to cut around an apple core. It’s not Shakespeare, but it gets the point across:
Cut to the right
cut to the left
lay it down flat
cut off the rest”
